In 1910 Sir Robert Maule, a prominent Edinburgh businessman, presented the Maule Trophy to the bowling sections of the Caledonian B.C. (railways), Tramways B.C. (transport), Parkside B.C. (printers) and Postal B.C. (Post Office). Since then the club has succeeded in winning the trophy 25 times. Our first triumph being in 1911, when 4 gold badges were presented to the highest scoring rink.

In 1913 Mr. A Maitland presented the Maitland Medal to the Association, the four club champions only were to compete for the trophy. Our club champions have a good record in this event, with none better than Mr. W. Mair and Mr. A.W. McInnes who between them have accumulated 14 wins for the club.

The respect the clubs in the Maule have for each other was displayed in 1975 when the President of Parkside, Mr. D. Fraser-Hopewell, presented the David Nisbet Trophy to honour a Postal president who had dedicated many years to promoting the Maule. Competitors for this competition were to be up and coming bowlers nominated each year from the clubs' membership.

Between 1980 and 1982 three other trophies were donated in memory of three men who had given years of dedication to the Maule: John Philip Pairs (Parkside), Harry Rushbrook Triples (Tramways), and John Lumsdaine Fours (Caledonian).

Many members of the club have distinguished themselves in the playing and managerial side of the Maule Association and the club is indebted to them all. Mr. G. Marshall of the Postal had the presidency in our centenary year.
